AN EXHIBITION IN
PARIS
STATES, Grow Your Own
Palais de Tokyo Contemporary Art Museum
Paris
February 1 to May 6, 2007
Organized
by artist Peter Coffin, Grow Your Own is an exhibition bringing
together a wide selection of micronations, sovereign independent states,
concept nation states, and secession movements. All are presented as
a creative response to a global political climate.
Micronations
are countries (often without territories) conceived by artists, eccentrics,
political malcontents, or ego centrics. These micronations merge the
imaginary, the artistic and the real in their embrace of a parallel
world, motivated by artistic and conceptual concerns, a dislike of paying
taxes, an immoderate love of royal titles, or even the simple desire
to create a new civilization.

"1001 art money," in the prestigious Oksnehallen gallery.

AN EXHIBITION IN
GERMANY
Dream-Dollars was in another
exhibition in Europe recently. Steve was invited to participate in the
recent ART-MONEY-ART show at the Kloster Gallery in the Bavarian Monastery,
Abtei St. Severin, in Leinau, Germany. The Kloster Galerie, in close
cooperation with the Bank of International Art-Money (BIAM) and Lars
Kraemmer its Founder ( www.art-money.org
), performed the First International Art Money Exhibition in Germany.
The Exhibition ran from March 4th through March 26, 2006.

ART-MONEY-ART
From their press release:
A part of the exhibition
is dedicated so-called "Money Art". Here are three of the best in this
category, their art on notes of all kinds, including Stephen Barnwell
and Franck Medina. The basis for these artists' fantasy currencies are
fictitious countries, of which their national currency these notes represent.
It is very humorous handling money, which is at the same time genuine
art.
AND AGAIN IN NEW
YORK
Immediately after the Germany
show, Dream-Dollars were also exhibited in the show, "Interpreter
Please! Painting in Tongues and other media." This exhibited was
held in the Rob Buckley Gallery in New York City. This show ran from
March 31st through May 27, 2006. Here are a few photos of the opening:

DREAM-DOLLARS IN
ROMANIA

Last December 5, author Marin
Marian Balasa published an article about Dream-Dollars
in Saptamana Financiara, the Financial
Weekly in Bucharest, Romania. It was part
of a series of articles about fantasy currency and moneyart. It is a
wonderful article,
and the full translation is available
here.

EXCERPTS FROM
THE BOOK
Here are some excerpts from
the upcoming book, Light
Within Darkness, Techniques of Interior Interrogation.
This new book from Dream-Dollars.com will teach
you how to "seed" your dreams, that is, to ask your dreams
a question, and to receive an answer. Originally written by Mme. De
La Rue, the famous occultist in Paris, in 1930, this book is based on
the dream work of Constance Brundt, the Dream Prophetess of Nadiria.
Here's a sneak peak:
From Chapter One, Where Dreams
Happen:
"The world in which dreams happen is a dynamic and
maleable place, made of much softer stuff than our waking world. Its
landscapes are limitless, yet they share a connection with the waking
world. People, places and objects that are important to you have an
echo, a reflection in the dreaming world that becomes a vessel for spiritual
energy. In dreams, we journey through a strange landscape whose only
illumination is the light of our minds. The appearance of strangeness
is therefore the result of our need to adapt our vision to the dream
world by the use of personal symbolism and metaphor. We perceive dream
events through the lens of our accreted life experience, encountering
a strange world garbed in intimate allegory. They connect us to our
deepest emotions and memories, creating a unifying link between disparate
regions of the soul."
From Chapter Three, The Dream-Dollars
System:
"Leaving our narrow bounds of security, we venture forth into the
World. We engage in a cosmic dance with Fate; alternately advancing
and retreating, giving and receiving, acting and being acted upon. You
and I exist in daily exchange with the Other, and we are called to enter
into Life's process of transforming what is unknown into what is known.
We live within the mind of God, and we are all the conduits of His imagination."
-- Constance
Brundt
And also from Chapter Three:
"Our bodies are always speaking to us, yet we often do not listen.
We too often ignore warnings of disease or illness because we do not
recognize the message. Dreams allow us to hear the body's voice, though
it may be disguised in many forms. Your Inner Language uses symbols
to portray a complex idea in a single event, such as a swarm of insects
or vermin may indicate the onset of a disease. Dreamwork for the body
requires that you correllate all physical events in the waking life
with your dreams in your journaling. Use of Ninety-One strengthens our
communication with our bodies and attunes our ears to its subtle voice."
From Chapter Five, Your Dream
Research:
"By seeding your dreams, you are embarking on a process of self-discovery
that will enrich your life and nurture your soul. Each new night brings
with it the opportunity to recover lost treasures, to explore new avenues
for wisdom and knowledge, or enjoy the delights of emotional fulfillment.
The experiences of our lives shape us like trees on a windswept hilltop,
forming us into the image of our memories. As we rediscover the experiences
of our dreaming selves, we reclaim some of the forces which have molded
us. We may catch a glimpse of the blueprint which has guided the construction
of our minds, and thus doing so, we gain some understanding of our spirit.
We also may gain some small amount of control over the process of self
growth, so that we may have the possibility to gently guide both our
dreams and our lives towards health, truth, beauty, and fulfillment.
"
Translated from the original
french and profusely illustrated,
this exciting new book will be available in 2007.
