ON THE USE OF SERIAL NUMBERS, MINT MARKS, AND VERSION NUMBERS

ANTARCTICA's limited-edition currency notes have a number of features that make them highly sought-after by serious collectors. At regular intervals, ANTARCTICA issues Series of currency in each denomination. Each of these Series is designated by a letter, from A to Z, and is numbered in sheets from 001 to 999. The Series letter (see right) is the first digit in the note's serial number, and the Mint letter is the last digit: W for Winter,

SERIES A SUMMER NOTE
V for Spring, S for Summer, and A for Autumn. Both the serial number and the Mint Marks are hand-stamped by the artist, making each note a unique, individually numbered work of art. Each of these thousand sheets in a Series contains a complete set of four notes, bearing the four different Mint Mark designs.

Serial numbers 001 through 250 are reserved for Uncut Sheets, while serial numbers 251 through 999 are cut into individual notes and distributed or sold. Uncut Sheets with the serial numbers from 001 to 010 are held as Artist's Reserve, and are sold through galleries exclusively. When a new Series is issued, a new and different paper stock color is selected to further make the new Series unique. Check the Denomination Pages (at the left) for paper stock descriptions. When Series Z of any denomination is issued, the note is closed and no further Series of that note are issued. That denomination will be completely redesigned and issued with the new Year of Issue, which will probably be in 2004 or 2005.

There are four Mints that issue ANTARCTICA Dream-Dollars. Each of the four Mints, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn, feature a different variation of the note's design, both on the front and on the back. They also have their own unique Mint Mark, which is individually hand-stamped on each note. The color of the Mint Mark is different for each new Series, check the Denom-ination Pages for the specific colors of each Series' Mint Marks.

There has been much speculation about why Samuel Brundt chose four Mints to issue his money, but the general consesus is that the answer lies deep in his Natural Number System. Brundt wrote numerous tracts about his famous System, writing in detail about how important the rhythms and cycles of nature are to our minds, bodies, and souls. "Our lives are locked in the Grand Cycles," he wrote in his most famous tract, The Wheel of Light, "and our dreams walk the corridors of the Universe, unfettered by our mortal vessels."

You also may notice numbers in the corners of the notes, usually a 1, 2, or even 3. These are the version numbers of that particular note. You see, as more research is done into the history of each note, new specimens are discovered in obscure libraries, museums, and private collections of Dream-Dollars. When each new specimen is studied, we get a more complete picture of how the Dollar was originally designed by Constance Brundt.

We are dedicated to total historical accuracy, and when the Nadiria Historical Society gives us new information, we redesign the note as soon as possible. This may occur in the middle of a Series, if so we stop the presses and continue to print the Series with the newer design version. Thus, you may find that in the earlier Series of some notes, Series A or B, the low serial numbers may have versions that do not exist in the later Series. These early design versions are quite rare and highly sought after by serious collectors.
