After the publication of the legendary Codex Celastrus, as compiled by Samuel Brundt in 1885, there sprang up a variety of Secret Societies within the colony. These Societies were enshrouded in mystery, ritual, and shadow. The members were well known, but what was actually conducted behind the locked doors of these Societies is still largely a mystery. It was always assumed that they engaged in practical application of some of the more esoteric disciplines contained within the Codex. Research is continuing on these Societies with new artifacts recently purchased by the Nadiria Historical Society.

The release of the new Series B notes reflects some recent discoveries about these Secret Societies. Much of their arcana revolves around an assortment of sacred symbols, filled with meaning and portent. New acquisitions by the Historical Society have shed new light on these symbols, and our team of researchers are busy studying and decoding these fantastic new ikons.

The Winter note features Church Founder Samuel Brundt. He founded the first of the Secret Societies, The Chymical Garden. His title within the Society was the Theoctist of Rome. It is believed that four great cities represented each of the Four Provinces of the spiritual plane. On the reverse of the note, we see the four aspects of the Mind represented by their archetypal symbols. This note features the Golden Crown, seat of Wisdom.

Ferdinand Olsen, Theoctist of Alexandria, is on the Spring note. He was the founder of the Golden Trident, the Society of which the least is known. The reverse of this note displays the Sacred Egg of Imagination, guarded by the Newborn Serpent.

The fullness of Summer is the Understanding of all things; the certainty of knowledge that comes from experience. The Blossom of Understanding is on the reverse, and Jervis Langley, Theoctist of Constantinople, is depicted on the obverse. He was the First Elder of the Duadic Radius, the only Secret Society that celebrates its anniversary on the Winter Solstice.

Autumn, the time of the harvest, is the time also of Memory. The many-faceted Jewel of Memory is depicted on the reverse, while Joshua Cohen is featured on the obverse. Cohen was the Theoctist of Athens, and founder of the Winged Trigram, most prestigious of the Societies.
